🧠 OpenAI defines 5 levels for AI to reach human intelligence
Guess which level we are at now.

Read Time: 3 minutes
While we are still distance away from artificial general intelligence,
Let me ask you a hypothetical question.
If AI has reached human-like intelligence and is able to self-teach today,
What is the first thing you’d do right away?

📸 Tinder will use AI to help you pick your best profile picture

Tinder has introduced a new AI-powered feature called Photo Selector to help users choose their best profile pictures.
The AI analyzes users' phone photo reels to suggest appealing profile pictures. It considers factors like lighting and composition when making suggestions.
The feature uses biometrics from existing profile photos or video selfies to identify the user in their photo roll. All biometric data is deleted after the search, and no photos are collected from users' camera rolls.
⌨️ Sony’s AI music editor allows modification with text prompts

Researchers from Queen Mary University of London, Sony AI, and MBZUAI's Music X Lab have developed Instruct-MusicGen, an AI system capable of modifying existing music using text prompts.
Built on Meta's open-source MusicGen model, enhanced for text-to-music editing tasks.
Enables precise editing tasks like adding, removing, or separating music tracks.
Trained on licensed music and synthetically generated pieces, avoiding potential licensing issues.
💨 A hydrogen-powered air taxi emits only water vapor

Joby Aviation has successfully completed a groundbreaking 523-mile test flight of a hydrogen-powered air taxi, marking a significant milestone in sustainable aviation.
The aircraft, a modified version of Joby's electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle, emitted only water vapor during the flight.
Joby aims to use this technology for regional travel, potentially connecting cities like Baltimore and Boston or Nashville and New Orleans.
🩺 Smart ring to detect irregular heart rhythms

Ultrahuman has launched the world's first smart ring capable of detecting atrial fibrillation (AFib). The AFib detection feature is integrated into the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, allowing users to monitor their heart rhythm for signs of AFib during sleep.
The AFib detection tool aims to enable early detection and intervention for those at risk of irregular heart rhythms.

🧠 OpenAI defines 5 levels for AI to reach human intelligence

OpenAI has developed a five-level system to track progress towards artificial general intelligence (AGI):
Current level: Conversational AI (like ChatGPT)
Reasoners: AI with basic problem-solving skills, equivalent to a human with a doctorate degree
Agents: AI that can perform various actions for users over several days
Innovators: AI that can help develop new inventions
Organization-level AI: AI that can perform work equivalent to an entire organization
OpenAI believes it is at level 1 but close to reaching level 2.
The company plans to share this framework with investors and others outside OpenAI.
🥷 Apple and Nvidia use Youtube Videos to train AI models without consent

Major tech companies like Apple, Nvidia, Anthropic, and Salesforce have been using subtitles from thousands of YouTube videos to train their AI models without creators' knowledge or consent.
A dataset called "YouTube Subtitles" was used, containing transcripts from educational channels, media outlets, and popular YouTubers. YouTube actually prohibits unauthorized data extraction, but companies used the data anyway.
The practice raises ethical concerns about data usage, safety, and potential biases in AI training datasets. Legal battles are ongoing between authors and AI companies over copyright violations related to training data.
🚀 Drone racing helps to train AI to drive spacecraft

The European Space Agency and Delft University of Technology are collaborating on an AI-driven drone racing project to train neural networks for autonomous spacecraft maneuvers.
The project aims to test AI's ability to handle complex maneuvers for future space missions. Neural network AI could enable spacecraft to maneuver autonomously using real-time data.
Drone racing serves as a "gym environment" to test end-to-end neural architectures on real robotic platforms.
🤑 Anthropic teams up with VC to raise AI startup fund

Anthropic has partnered with venture capital firm Menlo Ventures to launch a $100 million fund called the Anthology Fund for AI startups.
Eligible startups can receive investments of at least $100,000 each. Recipients will get access to Anthropic's AI models, $25,000 in Anthropic credits, and additional credits from Menlo Ventures' firms.
Even though the startups are not required to use Anthropic's Claude AI model, it's assumed many will.
This initiative mirrors OpenAI's $175 million startup fund, highlighting similarities between the two companies' strategies.
